First off, I got this WAY sooner than I expected. Kudos to the company that shipped it!While I would have preferred to have gotten it cheaper for obvious reasons (188+tax & shipping is a lot), the NX-01 Enterprise has been one of my top favorite ships and I've been wanting to own a well made model of it for a very long time. This also has lights that can also continuously stay on which is great. It's not the best model ever made, but it is very well built and satisfactory model for fun display. Also, the picture on the page really needs to be updated. It looks MUCH better in person. Also, watch Enterprise! Great show that's severely underrated and got canceled way too soon. Just like every Star Trek show, the first (and sometimes the second) season is rough, but once you get to Season 3, it gets really good.It was as advertised. No problems with the product. Was in original packaging and unopened. However, I reluctantly had to open it to check the batteries. Its just for me and not ro ever resell, so I carefully opened the box. There was only one sound and the ships necells did not light up. I feared the batteries were old and may have leaked. I expected to be able to see the nacelles light up and cycle through sounds while boxed. I quickly saw that mine came set in demo mode. Had to open the battery cover to see the switch. I moved to switch to "normal" I belive it said and heard more sounds. The nacells still did not light up though. So I changed the batteries. And whala, it all worked. The original batteries were weak and luckily had not leaked. I checked the voltage and they were a little low. If you get one of these to collect, be aware the original batteries may be old. You may want to remove them for risk of leaking and corroding the battery compartment. I'm very happy with it. Its the perfect size. This model is almost exactly what I wanted. The paint job is excellent and the packaging is very nice. The lights are also very good. There are a few problems though. The plastic it is made of almost feels cheap, despite the price. The sound effects also crackle and are grainy. The stand takes a huge amount of force to attach, but does not seem to be very fragile fortunately. The worst part for me is that the deflector dish on the front of the ship is bent. This is very irritating because otherwise the model is a great representation of the nx-01. All in all however it is a nice ship and worth the money, just don't pay too much for it.The version of the ship I got isn't the standard version of the NX-01 but rather the rarer version of it the Battle Damage Enterprise. This ship is a much more harder version to find and I'm quite glad to get it. So here's some pro and cons. The version I got has Battle Damage detail (black marks up and down the ship), it has several different sounds like: Impulse, Warp out, Warp Travel, Grappler, Photonic Torpedos, Phase Cannons and Enemy Attacks Disabling the Ship (The Warp Engines light up then go out as if all power on the ship went out). The ship itself is great but there's darker side to this ship----the display stand! This stand makes Peanut Brittle look tough as mine broke instantly (Peachey -_- ) as I was trying to put the ship on it, I really-really hate the ball 'n'socket joint display stands, they either wear out quickly or they're so week that they can't take much force before breaking. So other then a lousy display stand the ship itself is quite nice and should be added to any Star Trek Collection....just make sure to baby that display stand.Beautiful pre-assembled model, nice stand, nice lighting. Mine came in and sadly one of the nacelles was put on a quarter turn out of place leaving one of the lighted chiller grills facing up and down on the starboard side instead instead of lighted on each side. I just can't understand how such a glaring mistake at the manufacturer made it through quality control as it is VERY OBVIOUS especially when lighted up. Tried to get an exchange from the store I purchased it from online and they had sold me the last one and were not planning to re-stock and suggested I ship it back to them at my expense, and they would "consider" a refund. Haven't tried Diamond Select directly yet but plan on trying. Beautiful model which warrents the 5 stars, other than that one defect of the starboard nacelle. The ship itself works fine with lights and sound. It's a good purchase. Looks great, however, the ship is somewhat difficult to balance on the stand. If you want an alternative stand for this piece or any piece {star trek or star wars] try a stand search on Ebay for your particular model. There are 2 choices at 2" - 3.5" in height for this model ship at different prices. [ADVICE - go directly to the clear acrylic stand's website: tshobbies.com].Awesome ship. The detailing is great and the lights are really bright. The speaker could be better but it'd not that big of a deal. I had the original ship but it broke and I am finally able to replace it. It even has a stay on mode that lights up the deflector, nacelles and impulse. I like the sound effects. Too much archer and not enough ship sounds in my opinion but it too is not that big of a deal. Anyway, bottom line is if you want to have a ship for your collection or to give as a gift, this is the one. Just be careful with the nacelles. They come off easy.Great detail and lighting effects. A bit pricey. Took three days to finally straighten deflector dish. Overall a good buy.Amazing model/toy it has quite detailed decals on the hull and has light up forward Navigational Deflector engines both Impulse and Warp.On top of the saucer section there is a button that activates phrases spoken by Capt Archer accompanied by sound effects from the show.On pressing and holding the button for aprox 4-4 seconds turns on engine lights accompanied by bridge sound effects press it again and the lights stay on without the sound effects, once more turns everything off.One reviewer has noted that the stand is difficult to fit, i found this true also, the stand fits into a small hole in the ships shuttle bay by use of a small ball socket. unfortunately it dose not fit in snugly and one is always aware that it may come adrift and sen Enterprise spiraling to the floor. This apart i think that it is a fine addition to my Star Trek ships collection.Of all Diamond Select Ships I have examined, this is by far the best! (OK - maybe joint place with the Klingon Bird of Prey Voyage Home ship). It's as close to the TV NX01 as I can notice, I think almost perfect replica. It is a bit smaller than other Diamond Select ships, but the TV NX01 was smaller than TV Enterprise 1701. The continual lights on effect is fabulous!! With lights on, this is by far the best of them all. If you do collect these then make sure you get this before they disappear and price shoots up. Definitely worth adding to the collection.Looks just as good as the old Diamond Select toy as what I can remember but it has got some new sounds and bright lights Seeing as the old ones are expensive And over £100 This is the cheapest option for the new 2015 releaseNot as well painted, as stated in the advert. Light shines through the plastic in areas where it is not supposed to. and the wonky pylons and deflector dish. ( I will fix it later ) It's worth the money.Love it. Really happy with it.
